Robert Florea, MD

Dr. Florea went to medical school at Ross University, later completing his residency at Lynchburg Family Medicine in Lynchburg, Virginia. He has over 20 years of experience and is Ohio State Licensed and Board Certified in Family Medicine. In 2013, Dr. Florea founded Buckeye Health and Research in an effort to improve access to care in the socioeconomically challenged area of Southside Columbus. Since then, he has successfully established several other programs/services into practice at Buckeye Health and Research including, but not limited to: Clinical Research, Occupational Health Services, on-site laboratory testing, addiction/medication-assisted treatment services, mental health services, referral network management, and clinical placement agreements with several local colleges/universities.

By providing a variety of services at Buckeye Health and Research, Dr. Florea is not only expanding access to care, but offering patients cutting edge treatments and medications that are not readily available. He is an expert in evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of multiple diseases and health concerns. Since establishing a successful research program, he has served as principal investigator or sub-investigator on over 30 clinical research studies and continuously maintains active research studies year-round. Since 2018, Dr. Florea has completed and maintains active training and certification in the recommendation of medical marijuana to patients who suffer from various medical and/or mental health condition(s). 

Dr. Florea continues to provide care in the outpatient setting, while concurrently offering expansive and unique services to Columbus and surrounding areas. He is passionate in maintaining excellence by conducting his work with the utmost professionalism, expertise, and moral integrity, further strengthening patient-provider rapport, trust, and communication. 

Ashley Brannan, DNP, FNP-C

Family Nurse Practitioner, Sub-Investigator, Administrator, Clinical Research Coordination and Operations Manager, and Compliance Manager

Dr. Brannan has over 10 years of diverse experience in healthcare. After graduating summa cum laude from Ohio University with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, she worked as a Critical Care Nurse at The Ohio State University Medical Center, gaining proficiency in Neurological/Neurosurgical Critical Care, Surgical Critical Care, Medical Intensive Care, Cardiac Intensive Care, Critical Burn/Wound Care, Whole Organ Transplant, Oncology Critical Care, Post-Anesthesia Care, and Level 3 Trauma/Emergency Room Care. She concurrently earned her Master of Science in Nursing Degree, summa cum laude from Maryville University. In 2018, she began her career with Buckeye Health and Research as a Primary Care Provider while enrolled at The Ohio State University, where she later earned her Doctorate in Nursing Practice, graduating summa cum laude, securing a hat trick in highest honors. Her research project, titled, “Non-Pharmacological Therapy for Patients with Chronic Lower Back Pain: Implementation and Evaluation of a Quality Improvement Project Utilizing Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation,” became a cornerstone in her personal and professional practice, as she aims to continuously improve care via the incorporation of individualized, safe, effective, and evidence-based treatment modalities.

As an AANP board certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Dr. Brannan now cares for patients in the outpatient setting while pursuing her passion for scientific research as a Sub-Investigator and Administrative/Clinical Research Coordination and Operations Manager, overseeing regulatory processes, IRB submissions, site collaboration, and data management in Buckeye Health and Research’s research department. She is committed to providing patients with the highest quality of care by bridging the research-practice gap and accelerating the adoption of new evidence in healthcare.
